eQuate brings to financial institution the extreme control
on Business Operations with its Back Office counsel.
Back Office Systems Integration
The interface to OSS is a batch importation process designed
in three layers. The first layer parses the files into a
Java representation. The second layer interprets the data
in Java and passes the result to the third layer. The third
layer validates and stores the data in the database. This
architecture allows reusability across institution specific
file formats and book keeping systems.
The interface to OMS and MFO is transactional. It is using
a CICS-like protocol. A scalable connection manager allows
to share connections across large number of web users. Order
statuses can be retrieved synchronously or asynchronously,
to the preference of the institution. The asynchronous implementation
significantly reduces costs for large institutions.
The integration is made easy when starting using eQuate
application with daily book keeping system files. eQuate
also support many different file types such as ASCII, EBDIC,
UFF and NONUFF.
Back Office Management
This module addresses a deficiency in book value maintenance
for most institutions using OSS. OSS fees to maintain book
values for all accounts and to render these book values
available to the portfolio management system are prohibitive.
The equivalent function in eQuate is the Corporate Action
module.
Also you'll find many other features related to back office
management such as Off-book management, Household reconciliation,
and security management.
Flat Fee Management
This module allows institutions to offer flat fee management,
also called WRAP accounts, to their clients. Flat fee accounts
get charged based on the asset under management instead of
commissions on transactions. A lot of flexibility is provided
for creating predefined packages, fixing pricing schedules,
reviewing charges, accounts billing and reporting. The process
is fully automated including invoicing and billing. A history
is kept for later retrieval.
Compliance Regulations
Regulation is becoming an important issue today. eQuate
allows financial institutions to Authorize client credit,
and verify compliance and conformity to investment objectives.
Also analyzes account activity to identify discrepancies
between investment objectives and actual positions. Transaction
risk is controlled at the source by managing users’
trade authorization level. Order compliance measured up
against client investment objectives prior to order fulfillment.
Trade history is preserved for each transaction. Because
eQuate automates all kinds of compliance requirements, financial
institutions can use the information to better serve customers
and advisors.
